Everyone brings different gifts to the table.
This one, this one is like coming home.
The hot cup of tea on a cold winter's day, the first spring flowers, the return to New England after a trip to Manhattan.
With a dusting of freckles across his nose that I am certain the angels gifted before his journey here.
Peace.

Will, can you breathe in there?
These are never comforting words for a parent to hear. And although they were a scant 7 or so feet away from me at the time, I could not actually see them from where I was standing in the kitchen and Henry's question sent me into an immediate sprint to see what was going on. This is what I found. Apparently this type of thing is loads of fun, or so I was reassured. William went first and Henry second. It's called the "Let's see if you can squish yourself into the laundry basket and then have your brother lay on top if it and laugh at you stuck inside" game.
Just another day of fun at The Millers.

I have been a little bit, um, struck lately by this time in our lives. The fast pace with which everyone seems to be growing, especially this boy. One of the things that gets me the most, I guess, is the joy he feels with his life. Generally speaking, of course. He is extremely outgoing, willing, kind hearted, confident, and eager to try most everything. I am none of these things, so it really gets me. Well, hopefully kind hearted, but none of the others. He loves school, meeting new people, and trying new things. He wants to learn to do just about everything, and t-ball is his choice this Spring. He walked in with his uniform on today and I was consumed with something, I don't know. Mostly awe at my blessings, filled with gratitude that when these little fellas crossed their rainbow bridge, they chose me. And hope that God will give me the strength I'm going to need to parent these 3 boys as they transition into new phases in their lives.
Crock pot yogurt
We eat a ton of yogurt around here. I wonder sometimes if we eat more than we should. Is there a dairy sensitivity in there somewhere? I don't know, but I digress.
We made crock pot yogurt the other day and it was delicious! I found the recipe on this great blog, enjoy!
