Had a very warm Mama heart this morning when my oldest joy so very sweetly and proudly brought his star shaped piggy bank to the toy store to pick out a new toy. Five dollars from Grandma, one from Mama, and three dollars in change counted on the counter. "Do I have enough?" he hopefully asked the kind sales clerk? He did. So big and yet so very small.

Something about the innocence, quiet excitement, and old fashioned experience of literally bringing the bank and dumping all of his money onto the counter really got me. "Thank you sooo much, Mommy." he said as we were leaving, not realizing, of course, that the pleasure had been all mine.

Who's your Daddy?

Just overheard from the backseat...

(Henry is annoying his older brother)

Noah: "Henry, have you ever heard of Newton's Third Law, hmm?"

Henry: "What's that?"

Noah: "You know, for every action, there is a consequence." (spoken as if asking a question)

What do they say about that apple??

"If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility."

Luke 12:25-26 (New Living Translation)

25 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? 26 And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?
